The short version: Schemiql does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. It has no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts. Everything you do stays on your Mac, except for requests you explicitly send to GraphQL endpoints you choose.
Who this applies to
This policy describes how the Schemiql macOS application (“Schemiql,” “the app,” “we”) handles your information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
None. Schemiql does not collect personal information. We do not operate any servers that receive your data, we do not use analytics or crash-tracking SDKs, and we do not require an account, sign-in, or registration to use the app.
Data stored on your device
To do its job and remember your preferences, Schemiql stores the following locally on your Mac. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:
- The GraphQL endpoint URL and local file path you last used.
- Any request headers you configure (for example, authorization tokens), so they can be reused on future introspection requests.
- A cached copy of the schema you last loaded, to speed up app launch.
- App preferences such as your selected input mode.
This information is kept in the app’s standard local storage
(UserDefaults and the app’s Application Support folder) and is removed
when you delete the app, or sooner if you clear it within the app.
Network connections
Schemiql only connects to the internet when you ask it to load a schema from a GraphQL endpoint. In that case, the app sends a standard GraphQL introspection query — together with any request headers you have configured — directly to the endpoint URL you entered. We are not an intermediary: these requests go straight from your Mac to the server you specified, and the response comes straight back.
We do not control and are not responsible for how third-party GraphQL endpoints handle the requests you send them. Please review the privacy practices of any endpoint you connect to.
Sensitive credentials
Request headers may contain access tokens or other credentials. These are stored only on your device for your convenience and are sent only to the endpoint you explicitly target. We never receive, log, or transmit them anywhere else.
Children’s privacy
Schemiql is a developer tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
